Savonlinna Big Band's soloist will be the singer-trumpeter Branden Lewis, which is known, among other things, for the legendary by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band of the lines. The 35-year-old jazz musician, who was also nominated for a Grammy, has had time in his career to collaborate with, among others, Stevie Wonder, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Dave Matthews. Lewis is especially known as an artist of the new generation of New Orleans jazz.

The repertoire of Huwila's concert consists of bright classics of jazz music such as Cheek To Cheek, Penny's From Heaven, I Could Write A Book and Singin' In The Rain and from Lewis' own production. Among others, Dave Wolpe, Nelson Riddle and Teemu Takanen, who also serves as the skipper of the concert.

The Savonlinna Big Band will get a significant additional boost from top Finnish jazz musicians for their gig in Huwila. Among others, the house band of the Saimaa Jazz Festival's jam course Riitta Paakki - piano, Filemon von Numers - bass and Tomi Kämäräinen - drs and jazz doctor Jari Perkiömäki - sax. The concert is realized in cooperation with Olavin Jazz ry, Savonlinna Big Band association and brewery restaurant Huwila.
